Lisa Schneider

Artist Biography

David Joaquin - The Gallery in Mt Shasta

Lisa Schneider is a self-taught artist. Her larger than life photo-realistic style developed very early from a natural sense of proportion and color. Though gifted with a rare talent, she has only worked as a professional artist since 1992. Lisa's interest in native peoples grew out of her appreciation and respect for the relative harmony and balance with which these people have lived for millennia.

"My work is not only a celebration of the variety of tribal and cultural expressions, but a transcendence of their apparent differences. Perhaps only in a global and cosmic context can we fully appreciate the immense diversity of human expression and grasp our common identity. Behind the masks and the myths lay the Object of my attention. The empty canvas, filled with all imaginings, creates every form for its own joy. I sit face to face, brush in hand, a witness."
